I worked as an academic assistant at an English language school, taking care of day to day administrative tasks and supporting students in their academic and everyday needs.

I worked serving customers, restocking, creating displays, categorising and disposing of waste from large deliveries, cashing up the till, and when required, opening/closing and organising the shop at the start/end of the day.

I marked and keyed in exam results to a data system in a managed environment, where both speed and accuracy were essential skills. 

 

  • Knead Food Ltd, Great Bardfield: Summer 2014 and 2013

 I worked as a waitress and barista at this very busy cafe, sometimes taking on a managerial role,  instructing other staff and making sure that the front of house was set up and cleaned correctly both at the start and end of the day.

 

  • Roskilde Festival, Denmark: Summer 2013

 I volunteered at an eleven day music festival, working four eight hour shifts, two of which where through the night. I worked with a team of volunteers from all over the world maintaining the safety of both festival goers and art installations. 

 

  • Studenterhuset Bar, Copenhagen: January - June 2013

During my second semester in Denmark I volunteered at the student run bar in the city centre. I would often speak to customers in Danish and had to be quick and efficient, especially when there was a crush at the bar during large events and parties.

 

  • Café Retro, Copenhagen: October 2012 - June 2013

In Copenhagen I volunteered at an entirely volunteer run, non-profit cafe. I signed up as part of the Art Team and was involved in organising new events relating to the arts and was then promoted to Art Team Leader through which I attended many meetings (sometimes in Danish), managed and linked the team in relation to the other Retro teams, contacted artists and organised and set up the monthly art exhibitions at the cafe.
